Bad News promises to keep you ahead of the mistrust tsunami that has crashed the media by flagging the lies, distortions, omissions, exaggerations and spurious misinformation you need to know to stay informed.

Every Friday, we’ll share a fun current events quiz to test your knowledge, update our quiz-takers leaderboard, and curate must-read stories and analysis that call out how the media often gets the story wrong—or chases the wrong story.

BONUS: You’ll also get the chance, if you so choose, to participate in and earn rewards from our crowdsourced investigations—all in less than 5 minutes a week.

How does it work?

Bad News isn’t just about critiquing the news. It offers a new way to take control of the information in your life.

Bad News is published by Factland.org, a non-profit open source project built on blockchain technology with the mission of empowering anyone to open an investigation into any claim made anywhere, and have it judged by a community of their peers.

Participants receive token rewards ($FACT) for submitting claims, sharing evidence, and serving on juries tasked with deciding a verdict of true, false, or unknowable at the moment.

Factland is dedicated to bursting online interest bubbles, challenging bias and providing transparent, accountable reporting in service of the truth.
